When it comes to quality of life, it is proven that animals play a big part in improving mental health and decreasing feelings of loneliness. Brenham residents are fortunately served by the state-of-the-art Dog Park contributed and maintained by the Animal Friends of Washington County. After major flooding destroyed the property and forced its closing for almost a year, the park has re-opened and dogs and owners alike could not be more happy.

The Dog Park, provided by Animal Friends of Washington County has re-opened on Highway 36 North of Brenham. The Dog Park is a designated area where dogs can run off leash in a safe enclosed area. The Park includes amenities such as ponds, agility equipment, water stations, washing station, and seating both open and covered for human companions. In addition to a designated agility area, there are two parks, one for small dogs (under 20 pounds) and one for larger breeds.
